Centenary quilt completed

The Cassel Centenary quilt is now complete, thanks to the help of an enthusiastic group of nimble stitchers.
Members of the Mend, Make and Craft sewing group, who meet weekly at Ham Library, sewed on 120 buttons to frame the patchwork diamonds and add the finishing touches to this unique piece of textile art.
The quilt is a key feature of The Cassel Hospital’s Centenary celebrations.
Composed of 100 diamonds made by patients past and present, staff and carers, it forms a collective story of their experiences at The Cassel.
Quilt designer Hannah Cadogan, a former patient and fellow of the Royal School of Needlework, said “The Cassel Hospital played a hugely important role in my recovery so this is my way of giving something back”.
