About the Cassel Hospital

About Cassel hospital

Cassel hospital is a national service which carries out pioneering work in the treatment of personality disorders.

The hospital delivers treatment to adults with severe and complex personality disorders, and young people with emerging personality disorders, who may often have exhausted all other avenues of help from mental health services.

The treatment is offered through in-patient and out-reach programs. The inpatient service at the Cassel hospital is a national service and the only dedicated, residential NHS-funded Tier 4 hospital in the UK.

The out-reach service provides community-based treatment, for those living within the M25, and may follow on from the in-patient program or it may be accessed directly, but only via a referral.

The Cassel hospital also carries out research and delivers training and consultations to professionals.
